Using paper bags are a better TECHNIQUE. Also when small birds get stuck inside the bag it’s hard to ACCESS them. Plastic bags don’t break down so it will always be there, and paper bags rip so easily. Plastic bags can also carry more things, such as a gallon of milk. But it has negative details about plastic bags, babies can suffocate with plastic bags. Paper bags are not that dangerous because it rips easily, there would be less deaths around the world. People need to know that plastic bags are more esspensive than paper bags. People give VALID information about plastic bags, which makes paper bags better. When the store workers use paper bags, to me it feels more organized because it is organized.

SS1 JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment

"Get rich fast" schemes do work. One reason schemes work is because some people are great at their job. Another reason they work is because people are willing to spend money on what they want. When you think about budget cuts, it's mainly people being schemed because of smarter people. Scheme artists are also registering that some people are easy targets. People that make the schemes can also lose money. They can also mess up their credit. We need to notice the money proportions of rich people to help lower class citizens. In conclusion, schemes do work and help people make money.

Portfolio - Improvement

Over the past two years, I have improved my work ethic in classwork and homework my sophonmore year. My writing material is better than before, because of classwork participation. I didn't realize how easy the homework was at this school, but since it was so easy. Since my writing improved, I successfully passed the English CAHSEE. My technology skills are also better than before, I understand how to send links and blog posts. 2-years ago I didn't even know what was Microsoft Windows XP was until now. This school

Portfolio - My Educational Experiences

Due to my educational experiences, I am currently a average student. When I was younger I had bad grades. For example, I had mostly F's. Now that I'm older I know what is required in order to attend a university or a college. I already know adult school is another requirement, because of the grade back in freshman year. I won't need summer school, but I will barely pass biology. I passed the English CAHSEE which is a big accomplishment. Thought I wouldn't pass, but still was close to failing. I need more studying to pass the math CAHSEE, so next year I need tutoring in math. I raised my History grade last week from a D+ to a B.  As I prepare for the rest of high school, I will continue to work hard without assistance.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle

The biggest obstacle for me in highschool is critism from student altheletes in sports. When I was on the basketball team, I had a hard time getting along with the teammates because of them criticising me everyday whether I missed a shot or lay-up at practice. It's stupid how some people think practice is a championship. But there are some players that take basketball seriously, there are more than just one player that does the similar things on any team you go to, understanding that made me want to stay at San Pasqual Academy. It really had an impact on what I am today, always making shots and always making easy lay-ups. The obstacle not only changed me, but made me learn how to deal with stress. Anytime I step on the court to play some pick-up games, I'm always focused even if you have a guy yelling in your face as you make shots. You can elbow me, foul me. If I'm winning, it's a done deal.

Should video games be used in school curriculum? Video games should be used in school curriculum because some students will get a better understanding to learn such as movement learners, visual learners, and people who have impaired hearing will have a better chance at reading the material within the video game. History would be a great video game learning experience, and it will also have subtitles. Math would be kind of hard to create because it's mostly used in computer games. I realize school curriculum's use math games and reading games. I'm sure that history games will be the best of all categories.

Personal Changes Blog Paragraph

When I was a freshman, I was getting bad grades. Now, I’m getting good grades. For example, I had three F’s out of the six classes I was taking. I know that I need good grades in school in order to be accepted to college that I want to attend. My Sophomore year was unbelievable, I never thought of getting better grades. That is how much harder I worked this year, every class accept Biology. I failed 1st semester but good thing she divides the grades, so if I get an A this semester I won’t have to attend summer school.

Should the fast food industry be allowed to target kids with unhealthy meal choices? Yes, because when you look at foods that are too expensive and your really poor. You have nothing else but to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at McDonald's especially if your making minimum wage. I mean, me personally would force my kid to eat the food that is given. On the side, attempts to steal food such as vegetables and bread might be the only SECTION of survival. The apple's at McDonald's is a little SIMILAR to healthy diet plans. My kid may be obese according to recent THEORIES, keep my child active everyday playing basketball, playing on the playground, will have less harm to my child's health if I had one

SPA Policy Blog Paragraph

One policy that I wish could be changed is the on campus school, I would like the school having 3,000 students. I'd rather go to an off campus school., there would be more friends and more competition in sports.  Our school has 120-150 kids, that is like a preschool. There's a handpick of kids at San Pasqual Academy that play basketball. By having 3000 student's, it would be new challenges everyday. In college, I'm going to have the privilege. Until then, it sucks having to play the same people every single day. It would definitely be a challenge to play new people, it will get me better as a teammate.

Academic Vocabulary Week 35 - Practice Paragraph

A Picture of a Nike Sweatshop

Yes, because why else would they be sweaty. But that's not the issue, people are being treated like nobody's. If I was working I'm not going to deal with my boss yelling in my face all day 10 hours a week getting paid $4.50. There is a problem if your only getting paid $4.50 an hour. Do the math and your actually getting about $60.50 a week. What can you do with $60.50? Buying dollar meals at McDonald's is the only option, now you have to worry about physical health problems. You wouldn't have time for exercise, and being tired to even go to work will be the major problem. If I worked at a sweatshop, I would save my money and steal food.

Academic Update Blog Paragraph

My career goal is to become a video game concept artist. I will go to college and study, and eventually become one. But this isn't my only goal, having several choices. I won't name it all, being a concept artist is one of them. Since I'm gifted in drawing, and anything I see can be copied. It's weird how having two gifts, like basketball, and drawing. I'd rather play basketball, wanting to play college and see if that gets any further. I have a back-up talent, drawing. The average salary for a video game artist, levels of experience is $65,107. That's above average, it's not the greatest. I want to be able to excel in my hobbies, by doing them everyday. It's how I'm going to get there, to play college basketball; and be a concept artist is my goal.

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 34

Yes, phones should be allowed in schools because it keeps in touch with family and friends. But the misuse of cell phones should not be tolerated during school hours. Because of decreasing work ethic, student's tend to have the habit to text rather than doing classwork assignments. That's bad, the student wouldn't be learning anything. If I were a teacher and I had the power to take away student's cell phones for the rest of the day I would. Because it distracts kids from learning required material to proceed to the next grade. Taking away cell phones will increases good working habits.

Hitler's War Strageties

By not invading Malta, it was heavily  bombed but it was never invaded. If it was invaded instead of Crete, the supply problems in the Africa Korps were plagued with would have been a lesson. With that the case, Rommell and the Italians would have made it to the Suez Canal. The long term outcome would not have changed.

What kind of weapon's were used?

Poisonous gas was used in World War II even though it wasn't allowed. Which is another reason why mostly every country wanted to eliminate Germany. Hitler used "blitzkrieg" tactics, which is German for "lightning warfare" this involved a quick strike behind enemy lines with paratroopers and tanks, planes would also bomb vital points such as command centers and the infantry would just mop up.

This worked extremely well, because France was expecting trench warfare. they had dug a massive trench with impenetrable bulwarks and turrets and such called the Maginot line", but this was all useless because Hitlers troops were simply dropped behind the lines by plane, and the tanks simple rode over most trenches.
Offensive thinking was used and had been vogue ever since the 1870's, despite the more recent experiences of the Second Boer War (1904-05), where the machine gun demonstrated its defensive capabilities.

Yes, student's should know the required material in order to reach the next level of education. Which is basic fundamental's of math and science. A foreign language class is also required, it all makes sense. But why have a test that some student's may not have the ability to pass? That itself, doesn't make sense. Most student's now worry about failing the exam, student's give up and take the GED. Me personally don't even know that I passed, I hope so. Anyways, learning material from middle school, high school, would help you take along knowledge as you complete the test. I felt I was getting smarter taking the test, pass the test!

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 31

To curtain extent, yes. Parents that abuse their children should be held responsible for everything they do to their children. But it's the parents fault for whatever they do to their child like abuse. Teaching kids right from wrong without hurting the child is a very difficult task to handle. Is there any other way to stop children's actions other than abusing them. Time-outs have no effect to a kid besides yelling at them, sitting down on a table speaking to them doesn't do much either. In my opinion children should be abused but not to the point to where they cannot stand up or badly bruised. Violence does not solve it, discipline is what my grandparents showed me. So it's either being raised in a certain way to know it's normal.

Spring Break Blog Paragraph

During spring break, my mood was optimistic. I had no clue what was going to happen, it was fun. Doing things that entertained me was playing my PS3, Call of Duty:Black Ops "Zombies" was really fun. Online play was really fun, we played basketball a couple times at the basketball court near my grandparents house. As we played, I recognized my sister's boyfriend Caesar playing better than before. But I noticed my game has changed too, so this scared me. Doing nothing but playing video games took effect my performance in basketball, I did good but if I weren't playing games all day my performance would take change and I might of played better.

He played better than me, and I play mostly everyday. So me noticing video games can kill talent, knowing that less video games are going help me succeed in basketball is commitment and consistency. Mostly just having the initiative of doing work, it was a learning experience for me because going on pass and events happening. It's telling me to put the sticks down and get to work, studies come first and reward myself with playing games or basketball. Oh, and I played with new people who showed up on the court. Yes, they were both Filipino. I didn't realize how fast I was balling these Asians, Caesar was on my team of course. We killed them and both of them quit to go play a 5 on 5 game with the other Filipino's.

We played the next day, at the same park and man! I lost my Beats by Dre Studios! Well, they didn't get lost I put it on the seats near the court. I noticed I left it there at 12:20 am! Then I had an idea to walk back to the park in the morning. I was stupid, wasting my time doing nothing waited to long and we went to the park that next day and they were gone. GONE! I know now that wearing my Beats at the park was the dumbest thing ever in my life that I've done. A $340 dollar headphones GONE! Being broke sucks, time machines and  rewinding the past would really help right now. The headphones jack is already messed up, the wire always fell out. I think I'm going to buy some wireless headphones called SMS by 50 Cent. Better than not having wires falling out all the time is better than jacked up headphones. The thief is a chump! I'm getting an upgrade.

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 30 TEST

Schools should eliminate "D" grades, one reason initially is that people are hoping to get at least a "D" or a "C" because students are usually lazy and tend to have F's and D's. Student's are compensating by instead of doing homework and relying on D's. Another reason is that students would interact academically, and may develop good work ethic.  Student's like me is in that predicament but I'm gradually working towards better grades and success. Additionally, students find themselves going to a 2-year community college rather than a 4-year college university. In conclusion, noticing some of my classmates in class shoot for D's. If schools remove D's, student's who shoot for D's are likely to get F's.

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 29 Practice Paragraph / REAL TEST

Parents should not face jail time, people are busy especially if their job is on the line. It would be necessary for parents to go, forcing them them to go is not needed for a crime. No one is hurt, no crime is being committed. Not being somewhere is a crime? Nope, it's just not participating or taking part of educational conferences that your son/daughter has to attend. Seeing what position they are in, by teachers providing information about your child it is important to TRANSFER data from the teachers and providing a great RESOURCE and helping your children to do better in school if he/she is doing bad in school. Me, honestly think parent should SEEK conferences are a waste of my time. Teacher's always infer things that are not necessarily true, but that's just my opinion. Parents should not face jail time.

Trayvon Martin Paragraph

Yes, George Zimmerman should be charged with murder because he obviously killed someone. Anybody who kills someone for no reason should be put in prison, or jail until there is enough evidence to show that this kid is just an innocent bystander. The boy is only 140 pounds, and he gets A's and B's in school as his teachers say. The other guy being 110 pounds more should have handled Trayvon physically and restrained him, so is Zimmerman telling the truth? No, that's a lie. Zimmerman is also a racist, the police says he made a racial slur.  The girl heard him on the phone with Trayvon being chased on the phone. That should provide enough evidence to throw George Zimmerman in state prison. But that is just my opinion, if you have any responses comment below.

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 28 Practice Paragraph

I think GPS devices should be required for truant students. For example, if were a
ADMINISTRATOR
such as a principal for a school, I would responsible for students ditching. I would hate taking the blame for the minor being in danger, students could be kidnapped, they might misuse drugs and overdose. There are many possibilities, for me not losing my job. I would install a GPS system for the
CONDUCT
of students who do leave our school, for our student's safety. By us doing this, students will become more consistent in their studies. Improving the grades of students who have ditched, and this
ELEMENT

students will be successful.

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 25 Practice Paragraph / REAL TEST

Should adults have the right to carry a concealed handgun?

Adults should have established the right to carry a handgun because some people don't know how to fight. So the gun provides protection, and gets you out of dangerous situations like being mugged. A gun would prevent that from happening. It would also be easier to end a fight, for example, if your being robbed for your car keys by a random guy with a knife and you had no gun and you had nothing in your possession to get you out of. You would require a gun, because this guy is armed and your not. So anyways, he gets away with your car keys. Your mad, you are now a victim of being robbed. I would justify that s handgun comes in handy in many ways, just think of other ways to have a gun because there's no way to indicate this.

Technology in School Paragraph

How do teachers use technology to help you learn? Describe what they do and how it helps you.

Teachers help me learn by using technology such as a computer, we use computer's to complete our assignments. Increases work ethic, and it also prepares student's for college. Providing computer experience as well. Having some negative opinions, I think some student's that have online homework just does not have a good work habits. I do, struggle a little. Technology is in the process of advancing, the more we use technology. The more experience we get.

Felony's have complex issues which have nothing to do with voting. Yes, people that have felony's is not relevant to voting at all. So therefore, felons should be able to vote. They are citizens like us, whatever they have done was done in the past. The source of it all is that voting should be an international thing, my family member is a murderer so what does voting do besides vote?

Poetry Previous Knowledge Paragraph

The poetry above all, it's the best in my opinion, the poetry is the reflection of one's person throughout time, a novel is simple, easy to follow, a lot of details etc but a poem can say more then 10 novels at once, about love, about beauty, about life and death etc..all the things that really matter. The poetry rose gods from children, it expresses the perfect beauty of women above all other arts...the torments of the artist's soul are carved into words like in stone, with the gentle hands of an angel. Although there are wonderful novels too, no novel could ever merge the profound with beauty as that it is here, so complex, so pure. A poem can lift your soul so high and feel the experience of your life time.

Performancd enchancing drugs, such as steroids, should not be allowed in professional sports because additionally, people are more likely to get hurt rather than eating natural proteins and can also be in a more healthier environment. The PRIMARY reason is that it shrinks male's genitals, me personally would not use steroids because of that reason. Plus achne, there's also a PERIOD when men are to get breasts, steroids is like a TRADITION to get your strength built up and be more bulky.

Academic Language Practice Paragaph 17

Do you think bringing imports from China to the US is a good idea? Me personally, think that it is a really good idea because when you think about profit. China would be your best resort to make profit, buy cheaper, sell higher. It's business, everybody in the world wants money. To achieve more money you build on what you can, I'm no expert but I know that every person throughout the world and me and myself also want money. So in China they're getting low payed minimum wage, an average 5-6$ an hour. We in the U.S. get paid 9$ an hour. Makes a big difference, if the U.S. pays 20$ for our products. We are losing money, think about that whenever you get asked this question.
