When representing a lady it would be this female symbol above. It might not look but it represents a female gender. Such as this symbol below, has a dress like a women which means lady restroom or women restroom which makes no difference. The symbol of Roman goddess Venus was used to represent sex or gender. When we continue reading Odysseus Part B we will later on learn who Venus, Athena, Arette, Scylla, and as we encounter Calypso she will be more of the important one. That's my thought about this interesting book of Roman and Greek gods, I think it's more Greek than Roman.
